UK Media & Events creates inaugural Lancashire Encounter 2016
The Lancashire encounter festival is a weekend packed with quality performances, workshops, quirky installations and even a procession of light, which celebrates Preston city centre and its local talent. This was a successful, unique weekend of entertainment for the people of Preston City and their visitors, with an estimated footfall of 30,000 visitors over the weekend.
Our aim was to provide a free city-centre weekend long festival for Preston City Council, giving local acts and entertainers the opportunity to showcase their talents and bring local businesses together. We worked closely with the client on the pre-event planning, budgeting, managing entertainment, and scheduling the weekends events. We supplied all PA, lighting and AV equipment throughout the weekend, as well as staging, site power, access equipment, fencing, security and lavatories.
Alongside this, UK Media & Events also provided event production over the weekend, managing set-up and de-rig, building of stages, logistics of vehicles and units on-site, coordinating all sound and lighting engineers, management of all live entertainment, and ensuring the event ran smoothly.
